A deathly shadow looms over the movie biz this week as the second instalment of the hit Twilight series nears a sure-to-be massively profitable release. All we'll be hearing this week are the screams of Twilight's legions of fans. They were out in force at the global premiere in LA and we have all the pics.

Like Harry Potter, the Twilight franchise is now a given, at least through the fourth book, Breaking Dawn, which is where producers Summit Entertainment unfortunately run out of original source material. For now, though, we have New Moon, the second in the series. It’s all change behind the camera as Chris Weitz steps in for Catherine Hardwicke and the story shifts to expand the world of werewolves and sparkly vampires. Bella and Edward face new roadblocks to their love and Jacob Black gets to show his true, furry side. Can it take another bite out of the box office, or will it mope off into the darkness?

Matt Damon and director Steven Soderbergh are uncovering corporate wrongdoings in a spy flick that has no spies. The Informant is crime with no guns and no explosions, just lots of meetings and lots of interesting facts about corn. Can it keep us interested for two hours? Perhaps it can. There’s something refreshing about a criminal comedy that doesn’t resort to Uzis at every turn.
