Bret Easton Ellis no longer writing Fifty Shades Of Grey movie
The author of American Psycho is no longer writing the already announced Fifty Shades Of Grey adaptation.
American Psycho author and screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis has been excitedly talking and tweeting about how he planned to adapt E.L. James' best-seller to the big screen, musing on casting options and the story's similarities to some of his own writing.
His enthusiasm for the widely panned novel has been met with curiosity in many quarters, but now he won't be involved.
He tweeted that he had been 'taken off the list':
Ellis' announcement was shortly followed by the news that Fifty Shades Of Grey has become the fastest-selling British book ever (EL James is from London, though the novel is set in Seattle), bewildering some fans who consider it poorly written.
