New Skyfall trailer breakdown

Neatly riding the wave of Bond-buzz that followed his appearance in the Olympic opening ceremony, James Bond has reappeared with a STUNNING new full-length trailer. Here are my thoughts.

0.22 – “Take the bloody shot”. There’s an ambiguity to Judi Dench’s M in this trailer. Is she ordering Bond’s death here. The line “I made a judgement call,” suggests she is. This train-top scene was shown to fans at Comic-Con and adored by pretty much everyone.

0.40 – “Enjoying death.” Is anyone else slightly reminded of the opening of Rambo III by this scene?

0.50 – It’s Q! We’re all looking forward to Ben Whishaw taking on the legendary role.

1.06 – The Macau Casino scene looks stunning, as does Berenice Marlohe.

1.30 – Creepy, creepy, creepy Javier Bardem makes his appearance in blonde. We’re guessing that he’s wielding some kind of tech-villainy by the looks of the racks of computers lining the walls.

1.49 – “Mommy was very bad.” He’s implying that M wanted to kill Bond. But is he lying?

What follows is thirty seconds of out-and-out action that I don’t even want to start deciphering.

The only worry is that we’re seeing a little too much. Don’t get me wrong though. My Skyfall excitement meter just hit 10!
