Pulls no punches

When the teaser trailer arrived for David Fincher's adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, we announced it to be the coolest trailer of the year. Now the full three and a half minute version is exclusively here on MSN. And it's simply blown us away!

There's an enormous amount to take in here, particularly if you're one of the millions who read the book! Here are a few key moments that struck us.

0.28 - Journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) emerges from court having been sued for an article he wrote about industrialist Hans-Erik Wennerstrom.

0.38 - We see Rooney Mara's version of Lisbeth Salander speak for the first time. And yes, there was a definite chill in our spines!

1.02 - We meet the young Harriet Vanger - the victim of the murder at the centre of the plot.

1.27 - We see Lisbeth's lover Miriam Wu (Elodie Yung) for the first time.

1.32 - We're getting a sense of society turning against Lisbeth. We meet the scumbag counsellor Nils Bjurman.

1.50 - We meet Martin Vanger (Stellan Skarsgard) - the heir apparent to the industrial empire of Henrik Vanger (Christopher Plummer), who is the older man who is hiring Blomkvist.

2.15 - The meeting of Blomkvist and Salander. The coming together of two great investigative minds!

2.42 - "Please". A particularly good shot of Lisbeth, hinting at her talents with a computer.

3.10 - Flashes of the climactic car chase in which Lisbeth pursues, ahem. Well, we won't say who...

WHY RE-MAKE SO SOON

THE ORIGINAL SWEDISH TRILOGY OF FILMS WERE VERY GOOD (PART 2 IS AVERAGE....)

ONLY REASON I CAN SEE TO MAKE THIS FILM IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT MANY PEOPLE REFUSE TO EVEN TRY TO WATCH FOREIGN MOVIES WITH SUBS / DUBBING

SHAME BECAUSE THE SWEDISH ASPECT AND LANGUAGE ADD A LOT OF REALISM TO THE STORY

SOMETIMES 'HOLLYWOOD' SHOULD LEAVE REMAKES ALONE

I HOPE THE FILM FAILS TO IMPROVE ON AN ALREADY GREAT TRILOGY OF BOOKS/MOVIES........

Why the bloody hell remake this film?? The original was probably one of the best films ever. Noomi Rapace was awesome as salander. Sometimes i just wish they would leave things alone.

Why O Why make a remake when the Swedish version was so brilliant, even with the subtitles. Noomi Rapace was so convincing in the role of Lisbeth Salander, and all the other swedish actors played great charactors. There's that old saying, If it works don't try and fix it! It is such a shame that the writer Stieg Larsson of this trilogy died so young.

Sorry but the girl who plays Lisbeth in this version is not hot enough, that may sound shallow but I think it was somewhat pivotal to her character that she was attractive to men. The actress who played Lisbeth in the Swedish version of the film was much closer to the image I had imagined when reading the book. Just my opinion though.

I must admit Daniel Craig is more attractive than Michael Nyqvist but I don't think you could get a better Salander than Noomi Rapace. She was amazing!

Having read the trilogy on holiday this year I felt that Stieg Larsson wrote a truly fantastic trilogy that keeps the reader gripped from start to finish. The twists and turns that are within the hallowed commentary do all add up to an excellent piece of comtemporary literarture.

I needed and wanted to see the films.The trilogy blew me away, the original SVT/ZDF/Yellow Bird films (whilst a little jumpy in terms of script & screenplay) were truly amazing, and I struggle to see how anybody could match or better Noomi Rapace's portrayal of Lisbeth or Michael Nyqvist's performance of Kalle Blomquist.

I whole heartily agree with Laura's & James' comments that why remake the already excellent Swedish versions? On one hand undoubtedly it will appeal to a wider audience, but the original Swedish with subtitles all added to the suspense in my opinion. I will probably watch the remake all the same and look to see what changes if any have been enforced on the screen play by big budget corporate studios. Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara and David Fincher sure as hell better have done an excellent job otherwise they will be doing the memory of Stieg Larsson a great disservice.

Even though I loooove to watch Daniel Craig's films, To watch this one he will really have to do a good job as I've watched all 3 film's 'in subtitles' and they were absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!!!

The trailer looks great. Very disappointing that Ed Holden has got the name of Salander's guardian wrong. Holger was not the evil one!

I have read the books, they are he best i have read. The film will need to be something special to capture the tension of the books. the film will need to be about three hours long to get half of the first book in it

Ive read "The Millennium Trilogy" and seen the original 3 films made in Swedish which took nothing away from the plot for me at all

Craig will make a very good Mikal....but i would from this trailer prefer the original Lizbeth...but it looks as if the scenes are pretty as much the same as

Just such a bloody same Stig died after taking his work to the publishers

Wow, wow, wow, I never knew another film was being made. I am sooooo pleased as the last film did not do the book justice. This film looks amazing and looks like a lot of material has been taken from the book and gives a true reflection. EXCITING

I thoroughly enjoyed the books although I got the feeling that there would have been a fourth book because the third book did not seem to be an appropriate ending to great story and some great writing.

I like the look of the new film - the actors look perfect for the characters involved.

When will this fill be released and when will the sequels be released?
