Fifty Shades sparks surge in erotic film rental

Know so many people who have read the books and ALL agree they are so boring after the first few chapters. There are only so many ways you can describne where and how to have sex . It is only the hype that makes people but them in the first place

Bought this book way before the hype. Knew nothing about it being soft-core porn or filled with explicit sex. Read the first two chapters and totally forgot about it. Then when this craze began I thought, mmm, must go out and get this book everyone's talking about then, lo and behold, discovered it on my bookshelf collecting dust. Of course, I started to read it again and came to the same conclusion .... a non - gripping tale.

I am reading this book and I am 73 and must have led a sheltered life as there are things in this book that I have never heard of .....nevertheless a good read!!

Well I don't think that 4 out of the 5 million people who bought the book(s) in the UK alone can be wrong! Definitely not my usual read, but I thought the love story throughout the trilogy was very captivating. Anyone that goes into this thinking it is hardcore porn, will be disappointed. They are merely books, written from the perspective of a young girl, who in her eyes it is ****. Give the author a break, and let people enjoy it for what they want out of a book. There is too much doom and gloom in life.....:o)

Why pay for porn...

What a load of rubbish,just another money racket. Seen it,done it,wore the t/shirt.over rated past time.

50 Shades in my opinion is a very overrated and badly written novel, there is so much unnecessary waffle that removed could have been condensed by half!!  Won't be reading the sequels.

Fifty shades had a storyline besides sex. Maybe people who have no imagination don't understand all of the storyline and that is why they don't like it!!!.

READ IT AND THOUGHT IT WAS TOTALLY BORING,MADE ME WONDER IF IT WAS BASED ON HER PERSONAL EXPIERIENCE,IF SO WHAT A REALLY SAD PERSON SHE MUST BE.

I was sucked in by all the hype and decided to take a copy with me to read while i sunbathed by the pool in Spain... I noticed that 2 other Brits where also reading the saga.. I must admit it made me feel extremely youthful again but i was not alarmed by the sexual content due to living in Sydney city, Australia for 6yrs during .late teens, early 20's.  I read ' Lace' when i was 16 which was my first **** novel.  50 shades has proved to be an enjoyable read which  added to my holiday relaxation but i have not felt the need to rush out and grap a porno movie.  However my hubs got jealous when i read it and threatened to buy NUTTS magazine...   I laughed at his boyish jealousy... However i aleady have two names in mind to be Christian and Ana. in the movie version...Cannot wait to see if they are choosen for the upcoming epic. However some words appear too many times like 'Oh my', 'Crap'...Can't wait to see how the' Inner Sex Goddess' is acted out....
