Red carpets may look like they are glamorous, but they can actually be more like assault courses in disguise for the celebrities that grace them.

Yes, underneath the warm glow of luxurious carpet lurk a whole host of hidden dangers, including uneven flooring and disguised slopes.

And Harry Potter star, Emma Watson, is the latest Hollywood actress to fall victim to the perils of walking down them.

The stunning actress was snapped at the New York premiere for the movie Struck By Lightning and, although Emma looked steady on her feet at first, things soon got a little tricky...

Emma, who was wearing a stilettos to the glitzy event, stumbled on the red carpet, only narrowly avoiding falling flat on her face!

Yikes, we can only sympathise with her - we find it hard enough tottering down the high street on a Friday night out and we can only imagine the embarrassment of falling over in front a group of picture-hungry paparazzi!

Like any good actress though, after the initial shock of the stumble passed, Emma soon composed herself and strutted down the rest of the carpet and made her way to watch the film.

We bet she'll be more wary of the hidden perils of red carpets next time!
