Which 2012 Summer action flick was top of the class?

I went to see The Dark Knight Rises and I have to say, what an amazing film! It was absolutely fantastic and to say it was not as good as The Dark Knight is unfair as this is part 3 of what is in effect one long movie.
Acting and characters were first class and without giving to much away, I look forward to seeing the next trilogy from the franchise without Bale, whom adds so much to the character.
A thrilling end to a great line up!
Batman was the best film this year by far, it made Avengers look dumb (still a great film thought, will have it on Blu-ray) But Batman was one of them films that made you think.
I agree with the majority. I believe that the marvel movies have followed the comics in the fact that they are quite cheesy.
Not so recently, Batman became dark and it was trivialised in the films before chris nolans involvement. even Batman and Batman returns doesn't portray Batman as well as this recent trilogy.
Spiderman was good but its always been about the Batman
