It's touted as the new Twilight, and reports are saying the opening day at the box office may be more successful than Harry Potter. Welcome to the Hunger Games.
But that's not the only reason the movie version of Suzanne Collins' novels are causing a storm.
Reports are saying that seven seconds of footage were slashed from the movie, so it could go from a 15 to a 12A certificate. According to The Metro, the British Board of Film Classification said bloody scenes were removed by Lions Gate UK, saying: "The company chose to make cuts in order to achieve a '12A' classification. A number of cuts were made in one scene to reduce an emphasis on blood and injury. These cuts, which were implemented by digitally removing sight of blood splashes and sight of blood on wounds and weapons, were made in accordance with BBFC Guidelines and policy. An uncut '15' classification was available."
This got us thinking about other scenes that were deleted from well-known movies...
