Will Peter Jackson's second Hobbit movie be able to top the first? Or would Bilbo have been better off staying in the Shire?
So we can turn every childhood boardgame into a movie now, right?
Hasbro, the producers of Transformers and Battleship, have struck a movie deal that will see Hungry Hungry Hippos and Monopoly follow in the footsteps of Battleship and Transformers in becoming big screen (and big budget) movies.
Of course, how you make a movie out of four hippos competing as to who can consume the most white balls is a mystery. Good luck to the Hollywood scriptwriter whose desk this lands on…
Maybe we flip reverse the lightweight image of the Hungry Hippos and make it an 18-rated gang warfare movie with two rival gangs (of two) hippos competing for dominance of the waterhole, symbolised by balls in the game (obviously).
We can probably safely assume that all of our childhood boardgame favourites are now going to become movies. We’ve saved Hollywood the trouble and come up with storylines for all of them. Don’t thank us Hollywood. You’re welcome!
