Mel Gibson to sue over latest rant leak?

Reports suggest the Hollywood star is set to take legal action after a foul-mouthed recording of him allegedly ranting causes waves.

Mad Max star Mel Gibson is making headlines again - and another foul-mouthed rant is at the centre of the news. According to US gossip website, TMZ, it's believed Mel's lawyers are investigating whether his privacy has been breached with the leak of his alleged latest rant.

According to Sky News, Hollywood screenwriter Joe Eszterhas is responsible for leaking Mel's latest rant to US website, The Wrap. They report the recording, which features foul-language, was made by Joe's young son, Nick, in December 2011, at Mel's house in Costa Rica.

Sky News states the recording features Mel shouting at Joe for not completing a script for the film project, The Maccabees. He's said to yell: "Why don't I have a first draft of The Maccabees? What the **** have you been doing?"

MSN Movies listened to a YouTube recording alleged to be the above rant, but it was difficult to ascertain a lot of what was being said. We were able to make out the end of the recording, where a man alleged to be Mel says: "Who wants to eat? Who the **** wants to eat? (followed by more foul language)."

Since last week, reports have been rumbling around citing tension between Oscar winner Mel and screenwriter Joe. Earlier in April, Joe wrote a lengthly letter to Mel, accusing him of 'hating Jews' and more.

Warner Bros is quoted as telling Sky News that the project is on hold: "We are analysing what to do with the project."
