Are we not allowed a little mindless entertainment any more? So what if the "critics" don't like these movies? It's always really dull, emotianal pap that they like and that gets all the Oscars.Just because these movies aren't to their taste, or if I'm honest mine doesn't make them terrible. I don't watch this kind of thing but obviously thousands and thousands of people do, so they can't be that bad can they. Nothing wrong with a little chewing gum for the mind if you like that sort of thing.

Some of these movie franchises deserve to carry on because they are brilliant. Resident Evil: Brilliant. Transformers: Brilliant. Fast & Furious: Brilliant. Pirates of the Caribbean: Brilliant. If you don't like PotC, you're going to be annoyed. There's a rumour stating that there will be a total of 9 films in the series. Transformers 4 has been greenlit. F&F 5 and 6 are going ahead also. I'm glad to hear it. The Terminator franchise was also supposed to continue; Salvation was to be the first of a new trilogy, but so far I haven't heard about Terminator 5, other than it's supposed to be called Redemption.

With films like transformers, can they really be that bad as written above if so many go to see them therefore making them "Cash cows"
More importantly, how and why is James Bond not in this list? Its never ending and there's more James Bond Movies than any other Movie franchises! Now that's something that's getting repetitive!

I liked only the first and the last one of the fast and furious be cause it brought to the fore front that governments are helpless when people power kicks in an epic saying when the diesel says welcome to brazil!!!!!!! you must be an idiot to slate this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ed Holden, I don't think residents in glass houses should throw stones, please learn the difference between "their", "there" and "they're" before slating other morons for their taste in no brow entertainment.
My stepson likes the F&F series, Scream, American Pie etc..., but then he's only sixteen and really not very mature for his age. Most adults I know with an IQ of over 25 think films like these are all a great big dollop of cow flop, but let the kids have their fun, so long as you don't have to sit and watch it with them, who cares?

I don't think there is anything wrong with movie franchises, as long as people are still watching them and enjoying them. It does annoy me when they change the actors down the line though.
I'm a big fan of Fast&Furious, Scream, Resident Evil, Transformers and Pirates of the Carribbean myself. And a couple you didn't mention like James Bond, Bourne films.
I personally don't understand where the popularity of Saw came from, the first one was pretty good, decent plot, actors we actually heard of, but they've taken it too far now, this ridiculous gorefest where all they do is keep coming up with more brutal and psychotic ways of killing people, whoever writes that stuff ought to go see a shrink I reckon! Lol

Imo the last film was completely ridiculous... but I loved it! Of course its ridiculous dragging around a bank vault with 2 dodge chargers! It's the kind of thing my dad would say "Bleedin yanks, its all guns and cars!" to. It's cinema, it's awesome to watch I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The first was epic, second was good as was third, didnt see 4th, 5th was epic. As for killing it maybe they will but as some 1 said if there making money they wont stop and who blames them.

Transformers was produced by Steven Spielberg, NOT by Jerry Bruckheimer, Saw has ended. Another pointless article, please get ride of the writers of these things.
