Robert Pattinson wants to “strangle” the person who invented R-Patz nickname

Press Association
Robert Pattinson has revealed he is desperate to be accepted as a serious actor and that he hates his celebrity, nickname, R-Patz.
"I don't understand who invented that thing, 'R-Patz', I want to strangle them," he told The Guardian, adding that his Twilight success has negatively affected the public's perceptions of him. "It is surprising the amount of people who think I'm going to be really dumb," Robert revealed. "I think they think anyone who has done teen movies is just an idiot. I don't know, maybe I am. Some of the best actors, if you talk to them, they're not the smartest people in the world."
He also said has never considered himself to be a good actor, though his current role, as New York businessman Eric Packer in Cosmopolis, is changing that. It's an unusual choice for the Twilight star as it's set almost entirely in the back of a limousine on the move as Rob's character loses a fortune, has sex and spits out a few too many wordy monologues.
"I was always s**t at auditions," he said in the interview. "Since Twilight, I've done two. One of them was for a job I'm doing now and it was really hard - two really, really long auditions that everybody was going up for. I was so happy afterwards when I got it."
Even after all his success, R-Patz, sorry, Robert, said he still obsesses about bad reviews. "Nothing ever matters to me apart from the people with negative opinions," he admitted. "That's literally it. That always drives me on to the next thing. It's funny, you just focus on them and then the next movie. That's the only thing you're thinking about when it comes out."
