Here are some of the outstanding moments from the new trailer.

0.18 - The new bad guy appears! Jared Harris - son of the late great Richard Harris - plays Professor Moriarty, a villain with an appetite for grand-scale devastation who is the intellectual equal of Sherlock Holmes.

0.25 - Director Guy Ritchie did great work with slow-mo shots in the first Sherlock and we're loving the look of this woodland shootout.

0.55 - Terribly posh Downey: "If we can stop him we should prevent the collapse of western civilization..." Tally ho old chap! What what!

0.57 - Crikey! Is that a nineteenth century time bomb?!

1.04 - Noomi Rapace! The original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is revealed to us in period dress and she looks stunning.

1.36 - Lady Holmes: "It's not my best disguise".

2.05 - Busted! There was a comedy homo-erotic undertone between Watson and Holmes in Sherlock one. They're playing this card again, clearly.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows

Sherlock Holmes has always been the smartest man in the room...until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large - Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris) - and not only is he Holmes' intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows is in cinemas 16 December.

Calling this character Sherlock Holmes is a total misrepresentation. He bears more resemblance to a Chicago gangster than Conan Doyles Sherlock. Regardless of the merits of the film it should have a different title.

I´ve watched some of the first film and got bored, I shan´t bother with the next.

I've watched the first Sherlock Holmes movie, and was'nt 100% sure wether Robert Downey Jr would do this iconic fictional character justice but after watching his and jude laws performances in the main roles they really brought these characters to life in a wonderfully exciting and thrilling as well as at times light hearted adventure.

I cannot wait for the next instalment.

I was a bit dubious when the got an American to play the part of sherlock in the first one but Robert Downey Jnr pulled it off superbly.

Looking forward to this one.
