Naomie Harris says it first when shaving Craig with a cut-throat razor in Macau. And it's a line that's refrained in a Bond flick that is unafraid to wish its character a happy 50th birthday. Doffs of the cap to the early Bond films are in plentiful supply, tastefully done, funny and without detriment to the Skyfall storyline. We even get back to some classic audio at one point. Ready everyone? 'Dun dududu duuuhh dun dun dun dun dududu DUUUUHH dun dun dun DOW DOW duh duh duhhhhh!'

James Bond films are great escapist fun and always a bit tongue in cheek, but my personal favourite spy is Alec Guinness in John le Carre's Smiley TV series. No women, no stunts, no sex scenes, no gorgeous locations, but totally compulsive viewing as Guinness is such a good actor. Dry, obsessive, offhand. And the dialogue is superb Love the Bond films for all their glamour, but prefer the dark stark reality of what a real spy's life is probably like as in the Smiley series..

Not in the least interested in sci-fi. Bond movies are and have been getting over the top for a long time. Dame judi should stay well clear. She is much better than that.
