Spidey's fourth cinematic outing - and the first without Raimi, Dunst and Maguire - hit the cinemas earlier this year with Anglo-American actor Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and his real-life girlfriend Emma Stone as love interest Gwen Stacy. The film was directed by Marc Webb and focuses on Spidey's origin story.
As well as the new film, the franchise keeps on evolving as it enters its fiftieth year. Another animated series - Ultimate Spider-Man - debuted on Disney XD earlier in 2012, while Marvel have even given Spidey a teenage sidekick - Alpha - as a 50th birthday present.

no mention of todd mcfarlane who came up with alot of the best storys and better art work that revamped it in the 90's when it was uncool to like comics.
