Pictures of Lindsay Lohan filming scenes for the upcoming Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton film Liz and Dick have emerged, showing the troubled starlet, above left, playing at being a Hollywood legend. Liz and Dick is a made-for-TV movie but is garnering as much attention as it would if it was a big budget blockbuster - largely down to the dubious casting of flighty Lindsay as Liz.
Take a look at other stars who've played icons on film and failed - including Colin Farrell's woeful turn as Alexander the Great, R-Patz as Salvador Dali and Madonna as Eva Peron.
But for every bad performance there's a good one, including Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe or Jamie Foxx's bang-on portrayal of Ray Charles.

YES. Linsey can act and am sure she'll act her arse off in the portrayal of a onced beautiful but troubled (God rest her soul) icon. She, more than most knows what it's like to be in the public eye since a toddler. Was Liz a perfect woman? No, that's why we loved her. We too make mistakes so if Linsey went off the rails thieving, boozing and generally behaving like a spoilt brat..............so what? How many of us would survive jail and still show our face in public? Yes, she deserved her punishment. Now let her get her life back on track..........she may well fail again but hey, that's life. Her strength lays in getting up, dusting herself off and reaching for the stars......again. And yes I know, she is rich............but above and beyond that - a very talented actor................if she wasn't who the hell would cast her as ICONIC ELIZABETH TAYLOR? Think hard before 'dishing' the woman.

what a world we live in if we have nothing better to do then pull the next person down, what if her past isnt perfect, i cant think of anybodys whos is, at least her hang ups arnt been a total **** like those of us who just have to have something bad to say. be nice you dont know what life may throw at you yet

Why not see the film first,then speculate? Liz Taylor wasn't all she was cracked up to be anyway. Became more famous for the number of times wed,than anything she really did acting wise.Richard Burton underlined this and let's face it he would have known better than most. Why should Linsay Lohan being cast as Liz Taylor really be a problem? Taylor fought drink and drug addiction for most of her life. A foundness of pain killers and other prescription drugs just as her friend Jacko was. Lohan has fought the same addictions so on that score the casting is spot on. As for acting talent again Liz Taylor was overated to the point of stupidity.Only her beauty really carried her through and as Richard Burton said 'She is too short in leg and her teeth are squint'Again sounds just like Lohan so spot on once again.

Lindsey Lohan is a spoiled brat who thinks she can get away with anything (has done a good job of doing just that). Elizabeth Taylor was a talented actress and an artist.

If this is a actually a real sample of what the film's make-up and wardrobe departments can do to recreate the resemblance of Liz, then they should either try harder or be replaced! If, on the other hand, it's merely an ordinary photo of a (let's face it) sulky looking Lindsay, then it's understandable.
However, check out a good, smiley photo of her, and you should be able to see that Lindsay's eyes are like Liz's enough for make up to carry it through. I hope Lindsay really does well with this film, and look forward to seeing it.
