Loki's interactions with The Other and the Chitauri army who invaded Earth during the film's epic finale, teased the prospect of a truly otherworldly threat facing Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Thanos too suggests that the filmmakers are ready to go cosmic, as the comics so regularly do. It's exciting to say the least, though DC's recent failure to bring The Green Lantern to life will no doubt serve as a word of warning for Joss Whedon and co.
