Bafta: The awards with 'the British flavour'

For us, We Need To Talk About Kevin was the most overlooked movie at this year's awards nominations. So it's pleasing to see the outstanding Tilda Swinton nominated for Best Actress. Can she beat Meryl Streep's Iron Lady performance? No. But at least she was recognised by Brit-friendly Bafta.

Ah Bafta's with a British flavour, which means it will be presented by a Foreign Muslim in a Burka who has recently undergone gender reassignment surgery on the NHS and get's more in benefits for his 27 children than any of these Actors even though they work as a banker on the side. Ahhh Britain.

If "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" gets a BAFTA award, it will be the greatest travesty there has ever been in the history of the BAFTA awards. This film direction was abysmal. The first 20 minutes of the film was ridiculous, there was no thread and no story, the settings were so absurd that had that been the environment in which our security services actually worked, the lighting was so bad, causing all the employee's great difficulty to see anything. There were daft 15 and 30 second scenes interjected without any purpose at all; such as the principal actor playing 'Smiley' swimming in a pool with his 'glasses' on. Far from persuading film goers and film 'lovers' to not go and see this film, I persuade everyone interested in film and film-making, to go and see this film. Experience for yourself, the worst 'spy film' there has ever been. The BBC's ALEC GUINNESS 'Smiley' version, puts this one to shame. Please BAFTA do not give a 'BAFTA' to anyone associated with this film. I actually paid SKY BOX OFFICE £3.49 to se this film. I was so disgusted, I should demand a refund. Gordon J Sheppard
