Abbie Cornish lands RoboCop role

Abbie Cornish is in line to play the female lead in the RoboCop remake
Abbie Cornish has reportedly been offered the female lead in the RoboCop remake.
The 29-year-old Sucker Punch actress is set to play the wife of the main character, a cop called Alex Murphy who is turned into a cyborg crime-fighter, reports Deadline.
If Abbie signs up, she will be working with The Killing actor Joel Kinnaman, who has been cast in the lead role.
Last week it was reported that Samuel L Jackson is also joining the reboot of the 1987 film, as "a charismatic TV mogul and powerful force in the RoboCop world". Gary Oldman is portraying the creator of man-turned-machine RoboCop.
Filming is set to kick off in Toronto this September and the movie is expected to be released in 2013.
Abbie will next be seen in Whisperings And Lies and Seven Psychopaths.
