The character Jack Ryan has previously been played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck on the big screen.
The movie reboot will star Chris Pine as the CIA agent hero of Tom Clancy's spy thriller novels, who has to try to save America after uncovering a terrorist plot.
Kenneth Branagh is set to star as a Russian villain who is plotting to ruin the US economy in the movie.
