Blige ready for more acting roles

Mary J Blige has revealed that she plans to do more acting.

The soul star enjoyed her turn on the big screen as Justice Charlier in Adam Shankman's Rock Of Ages, which also stars Tom Cruise, Malin Akerman and Russell Brand.

"I loved it. I love learning because it's a process and you have to learn a lot about it. I want more because I want to know more about it," she said.

"I loved channelling my rock chick because she just needs to get out. She's very energetic, she's very wow so we gotta let her out sometimes."

Mary, a nine-time Grammy award-winner, has already lined up her next part in American TV film Parallel Lives, where she will play Malcolm X's wife, Dr Betty Shabazz.

"There are a lot of roles coming. I'm shooting a movie in the States called Parallel Lives in September," she added.
