Josh Brolin has revealed he has talked to Steven Spielberg about making a sequel to classic kids' adventure movie The Goonies.

The Men In Black star made his acting debut as a teenager playing tough older brother Brand in the 1985 Spielberg-produced film which starred Sean Astin and Corey Feldman.

Josh revealed: "I talked to Spielberg recently about doing a sequel to it, It's been talked about though for 28 years, so I don't know if it's ever going to happen."

But the True Grit star insisted he didn't think the film could ever be remade.

He added: "I heard recently they were going to do a musical of it on Broadway... Me in the musical? No, I can't sing."

Lord Of The Rings star Sean Astin has previously said he was sure there will one day be a sequel to the film about treasure-seeking kids.

He said: "They'll do it for sure - no question about it. I think they would like to do it with all of us, and maybe they will, but they're trying to crack the code, you know?"
