Cruise is Hollywood's top earner

Tom Cruise's bank balance got a 75 million dollar boost in 12 months
Tom Cruise has topped a list of Hollywood's highest paid actors.
The Rock Of Ages star - who has been making the headlines in recent days after wife Katie Holmes filed for divorce - is estimated to have raked in a hefty 75 million dollars between May 2011 and May this year, according to Forbes.com.
Tom, who turned 50 this week, banked the whopping sum after the success of movies such as last year's box office smash Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.
The star's earnings put him well ahead of the rest of the pack in Forbes' annual list.
J Edgar star Leonardo DiCaprio - last year's top Tinseltown earner - and Grown Ups actor Adam Sandler tied for second place after making a respectable 37 million dollars each over the same period.
They were followed by wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Ben Stiller.
Sacha Baron Cohen, Johnny Depp and Will Smith also made the list, each making an estimated 30 million dollars. Mark Wahlberg, who can next be seen sharing the screen with a foul-mouthed teddy bear in Ted, followed with 27 million.
Twilight heartthrobs Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner shared a spot after making 26.5 million dollars each from the blood-sucking saga and other projects, including R-Patz' film Water For Elephants and Taylor's action-thriller Abduction.
In compiling the list, Forbes considers factors including upfront pay, profit participation, residuals, endorsements and advertising work.
Tom's wife Katie, 33, filed for divorce last week after five years of marriage. His representative said the star was "deeply saddened" and that he was concentrating on his three children - six-year-old daughter Suri, his child with Katie, and Isabella, 19, and Conor, 17, his kids from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.
