Maggie Gyllenhaal is in talks to star alongside Channing Tatum in action thriller White House Down.
The actress could be playing a Secret Service agent who has to defend the US President when a force attacks the White House, reported Variety.
Jamie Foxx is being eyed up to portray the American head of state in Roland Emmerich's upcoming film.
Maggie - who next stars in British comedy Hysteria - has had roles in big-budget movies before such as The Dark Knight and Nanny McPhee Returns, but won acclaim for her performances in indie films such as Sherrybaby and Secretary.
She will also star in Daniel Barnz's drama Won't Back Down alongside Viola Davis and Holly Hunter.
