Has Rebecca Hall made A Promise?

Rebecca Hall is rumoured to have joined romantic drama A Promise.

The British actress could be taking the lead in French director Patrice Leconte's English-language debut, Variety reports.

She is expected to be cast in the role of a woman married to a wealthy older man who falls in love with a young engineer from a more modest background in the World War I drama, which has been adapted from Stefan Zweig's novella Journey Into The Past.

Patrice will share writing duties with Jerome Tonnerre, and shooting is set to begin in the autumn.

Rebecca - who has appeared in Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Ben Affleck's The Town - is currently filming Iron Man 3, where she plays a "sexy scientist" alongside Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle.
