Rufus Hound has revealed he turned down blush-sparing cover ups for his nude scene in The Wedding Video.

The funnyman's character Raif strips off in front of a group of tourists on a boat trip in the new Brit comedy, which also stars Robert Webb and Lucy Punch.

"There was some talk of, 'You can do this thing where you put this thing on' and I was like, 'Honestly, it doesn't bother me. We're all adults, let's just crack on'," he revealed.

"I'm someone who will get my kit off pretty much on request. I think somebody with my body shape should be permanently parading around naked in front of people so everyone knows, 'All right, at least I'm not that guy'."

Rufus makes his big screen film debut in the comedy, and admitted he was "pretty terrified" on his first day on set.

"You've got these incredibly famous, able, brilliantly talented actors and you're like, 'Oh right all of these people are basically turning up bringing their A-game and I have to keep up with that.' Clearly that is ridiculously nerve-wracking. But I tried my best, and that's all you can do."

He added: "I've done little bit parts for friends and I did a kids' show where I played the lead (CBBC's Hounded), but I was always playing Rufus Hound.

"This was a chance to do something that was a bit more clearly a job of acting. Having met Nigel Cole (director) and Tim Firth (writer) and all the guys making the movie, it just became more and more exciting until eventually doing it was just the happiest I've ever been at work."

:: The Wedding Video is in cinemas on August 17.
