Kruger and Yelchin set for romance

Diane Kruger and Anton Yelchin are to enjoy an affair in romantic comedy 5 To 7.

The 36-year-old German actress is set to play the wife of a French diplomat, who has a torrid affair with a younger aspiring novelist, portrayed by Anton, reported Collider.

However, the couple's path to love isn't easy as "cultures, world views, personal ethics and dietary preferences clash as love deepens, with remarkable results."

Victor Levin, who joined the fifth season of Mad Men as co-executive producer and wrote two episodes, will direct from his own script.

"Vic Levin's script has us in tears - we're just not sure if it's from laughing or crying. We're excited about the grace and intelligence that he, Diane and Anton will bring to their interpretations of his beautiful story," said producers Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn from Mockingbird Pictures.

Production is scheduled to begin in February 2013.

Diane, who is dating Joshua Jackson, next plays Marie Antoinette in French drama Farewell My Queen and will star in the big-screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's sci-fi fantasy The Host alongside Saoirse Ronan.

She is also expected to reprise her role in National Treasure 3 alongside Nicolas Cage.
