Tobey Maguire is set to star in the post-apocalyptic drama Z For Zachariah.
Based on the novel by Robert C O'Brien, the movie - which Tobey is also set to co-produce - centres on a teenage girl living in the only valley with breathable air after nuclear war.
Tobey will play a scientist with a dark past who gets nursed back to health by the girl after he is made ill by a contaminated stream, Variety reported.
The film will be directed by Compliance's Craig Zobel.
Tobey recently finished shooting Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of The Great Gatsby, also starring Carey Mulligan and Leonardo DiCaprio.
