MTV Hunger Games Bridesmaids battle

Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Wiig are set to do battle at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.

The stars are both up for the Best Female Performance award, and their films - Jennifer's The Hunger Games and Kristen's Bridesmaids - both have the most nominations, with eight each.

Jonah Hill's comedy 21 Jump Street and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows Part II both follow in second place with six nominations.

Harry Potter stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are among those nominated for Best Kiss, for Ron Weasley and Hermione's long-awaited clinch in the final film.

They face competition from Jennifer and her Hunger Games co-star Josh Hutcherson, and last year's winners, Twilight stars and real life item Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

New awards this year include Best On-Screen Transformation, Best Gut-Wrenching Performance and Best Cast.

Horrible Bosses co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell will go up against each other for Best On-Screen Dirtbag, along with John Hamm for his portrayal of Kristen's arrogant lover in Bridesmaids.

The 21st Annual MTV Movie Awards will take place on Sunday, June 3 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

They will air on MTV on Monday June 4th at 9pm.
