SJP mixes it up with indie comedy
Sarah Jessica Parker has signed up for Mixtape
Sarah Jessica Parker has signed up to star in coming-of-age comedy Mixtape.
The indie film will be directed by Tom Vaughan, whose credits include What Happens In Vegas and Starter For 10, Variety reported.
Mixtape is about a 12-year-old girl, who was raised by her aunt and never knew her mother. She finds a mixtape that belonged to her mother, but accidentally breaks it. So she sets out on a mission to remake it, tracking down each of the obscure songs on the cassette.
Mixtape, written by Stacey Menear, won the American Zoetrope screenwriting contest in 2009 and it appeared on the Black List - Hollywood's annual list of the best unsigned movie scripts - the same year.
The film is due to begin filming in New York in February.
