Sly: Expendables cast 'competitive'

Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger have been talking about rivalry on the set of The Expendables 2
Sylvester Stallone has said the cast of The Expendables 2 were "very competitive" on set.
Sly is back with the big screen sequel to his action-packed 2010 romp, alongside fellow action heavyweights Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
And he said that with so much on-screen muscle, it was not surprising there was a bit of friednly rivalry.
"It was very competitive," he said. "No-one wants to be second so that's why everyone pushes very hard and that's why these people have established a reputation they have because they want to be the best."
Co-star Arnie agreed. "Everyone on the set was very helpful because I have been out of the movies for eight years and so they actually went a little overboard thinking I didn't know how to hold a gun any more or how to throw a punch," he said.
"So everyone came together and helped, which was really terrific but at the same time we were very competitive. But I think if you grow up and try and be the best then you have to be competitive.
"We were always competing as to who has the most defined muscles and who has the best body, who has the least amount of body fat, who has the biggest gun, who kills the most people, who kills in the most unique way."
Rambo star Sly also admitted he found it hard to stop doing his own stunts, even though it was against doctor's orders.
"I had my neck fused in the last one when a stunt went bad and I had a load of operations and the doctor said don't take any rough falls, let the stunt guys do it," he said. "But sometimes I can't help myself."
The Expendable 2 is in cinemas on August 16.
