Taylor: Real life hero big pressure

Taylor Kitsch has admitted he feels "real pressure" after being cast in Lone Survivor, the true story of a US Naval officer.

The Battleship hunk is already an action movie pro, but said he felt he needed to do justice to the role of a real life Navy SEAL, who battled to stay alive after being ambushed in Afghanistan by Taliban forces in 2005.

"Yeah, you want to talk real pressure!", Taylor said of the role.

He said he'd already had some experience of playing an individual in a conflict environment in The Bang Bang Club.

"I went through a lot on that film and I learned a lot from that experience so I think I'll be more prepared to know what's to come, or what's going to be asked of me," he said.

"I'm excited and honoured to play Mike Murphy. I already trained with a SEAL in Texas," he said..

He said of his alter-ego: "He's arguably one of the most honourable guys that has ever served. They named a destroyer after him, he has a congratulatory medal of honour. He basically gave his life up for the other three. It's an incredible role. "

And the star revealed he has already learned all his lines for the film, even though filming doesn't start for five months.

He said: "He's got some incredible monologues that I'm working on. I have started prepping, but just small things. I'm almost off-book already and we're not shooting until September."
