Tom Hardy could be set to play George Mallory on the big screen
Tom Hardy is apparently in talks to play climber George Mallory in Everest.
The Dark Knight Rises star would play Mallory, who tried three times to become the first man to scale the mountain in the 1920s, in the film version of Jeffrey Archer's book Paths Of Glory, Deadline reported.
The movie, which has been adapted by Up In The Air's Sheldon Turner, is being directed by All You Need Is Kill filmmaker Doug Liman.
Tom can currently be seen on screen in the prohibition-era movie Lawless.
