Wood branches out into production

Elijah Wood wants to bring quality horror movies to a wider audience
Elijah Wood has created an independent production company, to introduce more horror films to cinema-goers.
The Lord Of The Rings star has joined forces with screenwriter Daniel Noah and director Josh C Waller to form The Woodshed, which will focus on their passion for the "fright night" genre.
"I've been a fan of horror and genre cinema in general since I was a child and have become increasingly passionate about the idea of there being a space in which horror films that take their subject matter and characters seriously could be produced," he told Deadline.
"What was born out of a conversation of our mutual love for the genre and what we felt was lacking in a broad sense, especially from the US market, became The Woodshed," he added.
The trio, who met on unreleased indie film I'm From The Future and are co-directors of the upcoming horror festival Nightmare City, plan to produce movies such as zombie film Curse The Darkness, chilling drama Henley and paranormal thriller Harrow.
